What to expect on day one
First day and temperament evaluation for Miami daycare.
Most Miami daycares evaluate a dog before group play. A short session shows how the dog handles new dogs, new people and a busy room.
What the evaluation covers.
Some providers include the evaluation in the first day price and some bill it separately.
- Staff watch how your dog greets new dogs and people.
- They look at reaction to toys, food and sharing space.
- Handlers check how your dog responds to touch on paws, ears and collar.
- They note signs of stress, guarding or overexcitement.
- Some dogs need more than one visit to be cleared for group play.
- Bring vaccine records, a collar that fits and any notes on your dog's history.

What if my dog does not pass?
Providers may suggest a re-test, smaller groups or private play. Ask about options.
Should I bring anything?
Vaccine records, a flat collar and leash, and notes about your dog.
How long does it take?
It varies, often a few hours. Ask about the schedule.
